Start Oracle Database Console

Using following script we can start or stop Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Console. It is not difficult for managing because Oracle provides own commands for performing this task.

#!/bin/ksh

echo "Starting OEM Database Control..."

case "$1" in
    start)  ACTION=start ;;
    stop)  ACTION=stop ;;
    "") echo "Invalid Parameter";exit ;;
    *) echo "Invalid Parameter";exit ;;
esac

export ORACLE_SID=testdb1
emctl $ACTION dbconsole

sleep 5

export ORACLE_SID=testdb2
emctl $ACTION dbconsole

echo "Finished Starting OEM Database Control!"

As per above script commands, if we need to start enterprise manager console manually without using script then use following command from command line terminal.

emctl start dbconsole

emctl stop dbconsole
